Bullock – Central Markham

Markham is fortunate to have been considered a great place to live for as long as anyone can remember. The Bullock-Central Markham community is a great example.

The community is bordered on the north by Bullock drive, on the east by Main Street, Markham, on the south by Milne Dam Conservation Park and on the west by McCowan Rd.

With homes built mainly in the 1960s and 1970s, if you like large yards and mature, shady trees, you’ll find them in Bullock-Central Markham. Most homes in the community have attached garages, which were not as common as they are today. Many homes have been updated to have many of the features of newer houses.

As for amenities, Bullock-Central Markham has more than most. With Main Street Markham on its eastern border, and Markville Mall to the west, and with Hwy. 7 between them, there is no shortage of places to shop. The area is also home to a number of established schools. When you want to get away from it all, Milne Dam Conservation Park is the largest green space in the middle of Markham.

Cornell

The Cornell community is at the other end of the spectrum to Bullock-Central of residential communities in Markham. As the area’s first planned community, Cornell features modern, urban housing including detached, semi-detached and townhomes in a tightly-knit community.

Bordered by the Ninth Line, 16th Ave, Donald Cousens Parkway and Hwy. 7, Cornell also features a unique retail/residential mix that makes it a very walkable community.

As a planned community, the area has many attractive amenities. No home is more than a short walk to a green space. The neighbourhoods has its own community centre and library and is also home to the Markham-Stouffville Hospital.

Downtown Markham – Markham Centre

Downtown Markham shows just how far a town can come from its rural beginnings. With a mix of townhomes, stacked townhomes and condominium apartments, life doesn’t get much more urban than it does in Downtown Markham.
If you like to be within walking distance of shops, restaurants, schools, entertainment and recreational facilities, and even the banks of the Rouge River, Downtown Markham is the place for you. With major employers, including IBM, Motorola and Honeywell, you could easily be within walking distance to work too.

Its location north of Hwy. 407, between Warden Ave., Kennedy Rd. and Hwy. 7, and the GO Transit station in the area, makes it easy to get around Markham, Toronto and much of the GTA from Downtown Markham.

These are just a few of the attractive communities in Markham. If you’re just looking into buying a home in Markham, and you’re looking for more options beyond these communities, Markham has them.
