What To Look For When Viewing A Home Online

Viewing a home online is common. And, sometimes it is easier. Before going to a home you have never seen before, you can get an understanding for the layout and whether or not it would be the right fit for you. It can also help you to better understand what you want in your new home and what you dislike.

Here are some things to look for when viewing a home online.

3D Virtual Tours

Although a photo say a 1000 words, you still miss out on getting a proper walk through of the house and seeing what the atmosphere is like. A 3D virtual tour can help you better experience the home online. You will be able to freely navigate yourself around the home without having to leave your own. In some cases, you may be on a video call with a relator walking you through the property. These can be just as beneficial as 3D virtual tours.

Recognize Fixes & Renos

Yes, photos are detailed. But, they often won’t pick up on any potential fixes or renovations that are needed. If you are doing a video call with a realtor, ask them to turn on light fixtures to show that they work, ask about HVAC units, and if you notice and stains or dents, ask if they can be fixed. Make sure that if you are interested in the home to go and view it in person before making an offer as well.

Look At The Outdoor Space

Chances are you will use your backyard at some point. Regardless of the size, consider what furniture you will put outside and whether or not you can maintain the property. If there is a pool or cabana, make sure to ask when it was built, what repairs have been made, and if there have been any inspections.
